This is a rather personal post I guess. I was just thinking about my most memorable childhood experiences.
The first thing that came to my mind, was hearing my father's laughter from the other side of the house! and No, this is not because he has passed away! and it's not because I miss him so much, (so much in fact that I have a fight with him in almost every single one of my dreams, blaming him for departing so soon!) No. It's because those laughters promised a family happy-hour to come!
My parents both had a pretty cool sense of humour. They were especially fun to watch, when they felt like joking around with each other. And this didn't happen quite often, as they were not always satisfied with their lives, or better put, they were not always in-phase with their level of life-satisfaction. But, on those Friday afternoons, when I'd hear my dad's loud (and in a way funny) laughter coming out from the TV-room, or the kitchen, I knew, they are both in the mood for some fun time! I knew my dad had probably said something funny to play with mom's ego, and she was getting back at him, her own way, and the show's getting started! so we'd join in, mainly to watch, and have fun ...
I miss those days! So many years have passed! But the memory still brings a smile to my face. A bitter one though, only to remind me that it's not a recurrent event to look forward to ... God, wasn't it a bit too early for it to get so late?

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky
you'll get by.
......
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying.
You'll find that life is still worthwhile-
If you just smile.
