I was running around today like there's no tomorrow! So much work to do, it's not even funny! I'm supposed to be writing all this in French, but that's honestly the last thing on my mind right now.

I was at the store today, getting some essentials. I was next in the lineup, as a buncha American morons were being served at the cash. They were also talking to the girl at the register, comparing TO with NY and all, complaining about how tax is so crazy in TO (which is true, I give them that), and then suddenly they went overboard, making fun of the 5c/plastic bag policy!

They were like, "so every time we purchase something here, we also gotta pay for da bag! that's crazyyy!!!" One of them noticed my reusable bag, she actually POINTED at it and went: "Oh you gotta bring your own bag! hahaha that's the way to save!!!" I was like, what the fuck ?!?!? Do I look like the kinda bum that takes a bag with her only to save FIVE FREAKIN' CENTS for crying out loud?! How stupid are you??? Does it even occur to you that if they actually wanted to rip you off, they'd probably increase taxes, and not sneak 5c outta your pocket for plastic bags? Or better, they would at least charge for ALL kinds of bags, not just plastic ones. Does the term "plastic" ring a bell maybe? it's the keyword here you know!

I bit my lips trying really hard not to say anything, but then I couldn't help it, so I went: "It's for the environment you know! it's not like 5c is such huge deal, or that Ontario's trying to rip you off or anything!". By the look on her face I could tell, she really WAS that stupid and that it really had NEVER occurred to her! She hadn't even tried to reuse the same fuckin' bag she'd paid 5c for, just so she'd save another 5c, that's how stupid she was! She was like, oh ... then silence till they were outta there.

I wonder why the girl at the register didn't say anything ... I'm sure she knew, coz when she started scanning my stuff she said, I actually think 5c doesn't get the job done, they should charge a buck or two, to actually get people to use reusable bags ... I was like, why didn't you say this a couple minutes ago?
